Understanding

Understanding

The eagle and the crow have an understanding, the eagle gets to eat first and the crow can pick the carcass afterwords.

Again, this photo has blur, but it was taken from across the Susquehanna River. Anyone familiar with the Susquehanna River – which flows from Cooperstown, NY to form the Chesapeake Bay along the Atlantic seaboard – will tell you how mighty the river is. It was a long stretch, even with 21X zoom, and with no tripod I really was winging it. So here’s another blurry photo.

I regret that this photo is not very clear, but I am posting it anyhow. I was all the way across the Susquehanna River in Owego, NY today and happened to be shooting an eagle. The eagle was diving for dinner which it caught, and I have photos of the catching, the hauling away and the feeding frenzy. I shot around a hundred and fifty shots and haven’t had time to go through and edit them yet. So I skimmed through and picked out a few and cropped them. This was one I found really cool. The crows were exceptionally brave.
