Another photo with me and a few cats. These ones were heavy, a couple ten pounders in my hands, and a slew of others on the plastic. This was while on a trip with my dad. He enjoyed catching that many cats – as he said he had never believed it were possible to catch that many in one trip. He believed me after that, and caught the catfish bug.
Yes, this was me. I was posing. The catfish weren’t that heavy, I was messing around trying to make people think they were a heavy stringer. Just trying to show off my muscles. Of course now my beard is grey and a faded blond.
Another photo of me with a bounty of catfish.
No, I’m not picking on Elmer Fudd. When I went cat-fishing this was a routine sight. I would have a wheelbarrow load of catfish to filet and wash and soak and rinse and package and freeze, and eventually eat. Most of the cats I caught averaged between 5-8 pounds each. This makes for a heave stringer of fish.
