The Shape of Things

The Shape of Things

This is one of my favorite bird captures. The branch seems to be telling the bird “come here” because it looks like a hand beckoning the bird forth. The leaves have nice color against the sky, and the bird seems calm enough. I like the overall effect of the shapes within the photo.

On The Wire

On The Wire

A balancing act done well. This red-winged blackbird was taking a break on top of a fence. It was a long shot and without a tripod, hard to focus on the bird and get the fence fairly clear as well. This was the best of two shots before the bird flew off.

The Bird

The Bird

I don’t think I posted this one yet. Ah, who knows, too many irons in too many fires this week. As soon as the sun rises I have to switch to woodcarving until its time to shower and go to work. Need 6 carved projects finished by the end of the month for a juried exhibition into a gallery. Work, work, work, and it never seems to get me anywhere. Heres hoping!

Turkey Crossing

Turkey Crossing

I caught this turkey just after it crossed the road, opened my window and got off two lucky shots with my camera. And for those of you reading this, please read my last post, The Idea Pool as it was years in the making, and tedious typing, and still very raw but says what it needs. Thank you.

Of A Lifetime

Of A Lifetime

This was the shot of a lifetime for me. A seagull diving for minnows. I only had a 5 mp camera with a 3X zoom and this was mega far away. So I cropped like mad on the computer and got this photo. It pixellates when printed over 5 inches. but I am proud to say I was only shooting for about 3 months when I got this shot.
